The carbine is complete with: (1) three 15-round, flat base magazines marked "U" on the spines, (2) post-war olive drab "D-Tip" sling, (3) Type I magazine pouch marked "AVERY 1943" on the back and "U.S." on the front, (4) M1 carbine case marked "M.-D. All of the metal components except for the rear sight spring and T-4 barrel band have an even gray-green parkerized finish. There are no other markings on the stock and hand guard. 6" is boldly stamped on the left side of the stock. The carbine has the early Type 1 flip sight with blued spring marked "PN" on the right side and "S" on the left side, WWII flat top bolt, Type II unmarked push safety, Type III magazine release with plain face, nicely figured high wood stock with oval sling cut and nicely figured, two-rivet, walnut hand guard. The top of the receiver is roll-stamped "U.S. The barrel is roll-stamped "UNDERWOOD/3-43" above the Ordnance Shell & Flame insignia. The heel of the receiver has been milled smooth and re-stamped with the serial number "6". The top of the barrel band is lightly engraved "UNDERWOOD EXPERIMENTAL/U.S. The carbine is fitted with a post-WWII T-4 barrel band with bayonet lug marked "MMQ" on the left side.
